Hytera Acquires Rohde & Schwarz PMR and Strengthens Its Competition Edge in Global Tetra Market

On May 27, Hytera successfully completed its initial public offering (IPO) on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange of China. 70 million shares, out of 278 million shares’ total capital, were traded publicly with an initial price of CNY19.90 ($3.06) per share to total gross proceeds of CNY1,393 million ($214.2 million), bringing Hytera to a market value of CNY 5532 million ($851 million). 

The PMR market has constantly grown in the recent years with the DMR standard establishing the largest market share compared to the dPMR standard (incl. NXDN and NEXEDGE). Expectations are that 50% of the analog market will migrate to digital over the next 6 years; this creates a tremendous opportunity in the PMR business for the manufactures, accessory suppliers and application developers.  

Field testing results from LigoWave Customers in Mexico have provided 70Mbits throughput over a 77km link using firmware 6.5.3.  Read on for details of the links and an image.
